About Us
History
The world’s first women’s mariachi was founded in 1989. Our members are talented and beautiful women, who proudly play Mexican music at many festivals and other events both within Mexico and overseas.
National pride, the cantina atmosphere, tequila, and a lover’s heartache are some of the feelings embodied in the lyrics of mariachi music. With delicate voices full of sentiment, the high-pitched swoon of the violins, the power of the Mexican guitarrón bass, and the blare of the trumpets, Mariachi Las Perlitas will liven up any audience.
Lose yourself in the music and the vast talent of these women, who have made their country proud as they inspire us with their joy, happiness, passion and love for their beautiful homeland: Mexico.
From Guadalajara, Jalisco, the land of tequila and mariachi, we present you with this extraordinarily unique group who were, are, and always will be, the world’s first women’s mariachi: “Las Perlitas Tapatias”.
Love thy Nation
For the members of Las Perlitas Tapatias, being part of this magnificent mariachi is something that runs through their veins. It is a whole way of life! It is more than just glamour and extravagances. It is showing the world what Mexico has to offer.
By transmitting Mexican folklore, showing the world its roots, telling its history and the pride we feel by being a part of this wonderful country so full of culture, is to tell of a bygone era in Mexico, with its ranchers, country towns and traditions.
Women with widely contrasting interests, who are so different from one another, are now sisters in music, united through the happiness and love they feel when they sing for their country.
Performances
The Perlitas Tapatías have had the honor of performing in various countries such as Belize, Canada, Korea; as well as countless cities in the United States of America: Las Vegas, Hollywood, Dallas, Houston, Los Angeles, San Francisco, San Diego, Atlanta, Chicago, New York, just to name a few. The Perlitas Tapatias have shared the stage with some of the big mariachi names, such as Sol de Mexico, Los Camperos and Mariachi Vargas as well as other great Mexican stars such as Veronica Castro, Guadalupe Pineda, Tania Libertad, Angeles Ochoa, Beatriz Adriana, Alejandro Fernandez, Lucha Villa, Lucero, Pepe Aguilar, among others.
Mariachi Las Perlitas has also been recognized by some prestigious print and broadcasting media outlets, such as the Los Angeles Times, the Arizona Republic, Orange County Register, Arizona Daily Star, Showbiz Magazine of Vegas Nevada, the TV y Novelas Magazine, CBS, Telemundo, Galavision and Televisa, who have on many occasions, opened their doors, given us air time, requested interviews and presentations in which they announced us as: The World’s First Women’s Mariachi: LAS PERLITAS TAPATIAS.
